Did you know they don’t serve biscuits and gravy in NYC?

Kentucky T-shirtsIt always shocked me that such a southern delicacy could go unnoticed. It’s a classic dish and can be served a variety of ways: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, soy free, nut free, with meat, peppered, and everything in between. This type of deliciousness is made from the simplest ingredients. Figuratively speaking, that’s me. Eric

And at times, brunch is better for dinner.

I’m on the road, finally. And starting in Lexington as planned. Everyone has kept in touch after my epic send-off, and I promise I’ll let you know where I’m headed next just as soon as I figure it out myself. Maybe I’ll literally be following a biscuit crumb trail. I’ve always had a strong interest in travel and embracing new experiences, especially integrating myself into new cultures. In fact, studying sociology in college made me realize how much I want to meet people from all walks of life. I want to hear their stories and help create my own. And food brings people together. It’s as if chowing down is a universal language for comfort. So it makes sense that I meet my people at a local brunch eatery no matter where I might land (I’m always enticed by a vegetarian-friendly menu). This time, it happened to be at Doodles, a dainty downtown hub in Lexington, Kentucky. There’s nothing like it.

Although moooost of us are on social media, face to face reigns supreme. My friends and I picked up where we left off without skipping a beat — sippin’ mimosas, coffee and/or whatever else keeps us going these days. We talked about anything and everything, and I’ve been picking up whatever tips I can about taking good photos and connecting with people in different cities.

I was born and raised in the Bluegrass, but am ready to set foot on different turf to see what happens. I truly believe the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself. What I mean by that is, place yourself in a new environment outside of your comfort zone, and react with the intent of growth. I spent 17 straight years in school, have earned a degree to fall back on, and was lucky enough to earn some cash from modeling gigs. Now I’m changing the tempo. Check back later to see what’s new.
